Reusing in Year 4

Did you know you can make lots of useful things from recycled products. You can make a nice pencil holder from a milk carton, a magazine pocket from a cereal box, a toy telephone from some yoghurt pots. The list is endless. Year 3 did a fantastic job reusing stuff from home. Take a look at the photos.

Starting with the Three R's in Year 4

Hi, we're studying about energy and saving energy in Year 4. Yesterday we studied the 3 R's: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Here's a good way to reuse something you would normally throw away. Try making this pocket to keep your magazines and books tidy.

Drama in Year 1

Did you know that our students in Year 1 have become expert stroytellers and actors? This week they went down to the infant school to show the little ones their version of The Three Little Pigs. Have a look at the infant school blog to see the photos. The Three Little Pigs

English Day

We've started preparing this year's English Day. We're preparing the decorations and learning our lines for our first big play in English. The students in Year 5 and Year 6 are going to perform the musical Grease for all the families. There's lots of work to do, lots of food to prepare, but we're sure it will be just as much fun as last year. Put the date in your diaries: 24th March 2012

Vertebrates

When we were studying vertebrates, Year 5 wanted to bring in some live examples. They had to make do with these clay models we made and their fantastic presentations to explain the characteristics of mammals, amphibians, fish, birds and reptiles.

Making birds fly

In Year 4 we created a beautiful landscape for a bird to fly. Then we made a paper bird fly. Magic? No, we stuck a paperclip to our bird then used a magnet to make it fly.
