Bean and lentil plants in Year 4

The students of Year 4 have been studying about living things in science. We've seen how the life processes work in the animal kinddom, in the plant kingdom and in the fungi kingdom. We did an experiment to see how bean and lentil plants react to their environment. We planted some in soil and some in cotton wool. The lentils that Patricia Amo and Patricia Aramayo planted in cotton wool were the first to sprout shoots. They're growing really quickly. Next week we'll show you some more photos of all the plants.

We've added a Venus Fly Trap to our plant collection. Its leaves open and shut when small mosquitos come near. The students in Year 4 are responsible for opening the curtains in the morning to make sure the plants get lots of light. They also have to make sure the plants get enough water. But be careful not to give them too much water!!
